Obituary For Monte Clair Killian

Monte Killian, (67) of Long Beach, Washington, passed away on January 18, 2019. He was born in Spokane, Washington on April 9, 1951. Monte graduated from North Central HS in Spokane in 1969. Monte is preceded in death by father Clair Killian and is survived by his mother Shirley Robinson of Long Beach, WA; son Gabriel Killian of Virginia Beach, VA; who is active in the US Navy; sisters Sherry Hash of Long Beach, WA, Linda (Don) Townsend and Becky (Jim) Achenbach of Spokane, WA, brother Scott Killian of Long Beach, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. Monte worked at Sun Runner Marine in Spokane in 1970 where he met his lifelong friend Dean Garvey.

As a father, Monte was like none other. He loved his son with all he had, and to this day continues to be an inspiration for him. He never tired of being the best father a man could ask for and he will always be known for his fatherly love towards his son, Gabe.

Monte was the owner of Coastal Floor Covering in Long Beach, WA. He loved the Long Beach Peninsula where he volunteered and helped with many community events. He thoroughly enjoyed driving on the beach and clam digging. He was everybodyโ€™s โ€œHoney Doโ€ man, always helping his family and friends with their needs, which his self-less care was well-known in his community. Monte has always been a wonderful friend, brother, father, and son to those around him, always making each meeting the beginning of a friendship.

He made those around him enjoy the moment. Monte will be missed, we can all say he was wealthy with a world of friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the South Pacific County Humane Society, PO Box 101, Long Beach WA, 98631.

Per Monte’s wishes there will not be a memorial service.

Anyone seeing this is encouraged to share a memory in the comments about Monte and the mark he left in this world and in our lives. He will forever be missed.
