Obituary For Louis Michael Kuntz

OBITUARY

Louis Michael Kuntz

March 04, 1941 – July 4, 2020

Louis Michael Kuntz, 79, of Roswell, Georgia (formerly of Pleasanton, California, and Normal, Illinois) passed away peacefully on Saturday July 04, 2020, comforted by the presence and love of his family.

He was born on March 04, 1941, in Normal, IL, the son of Albert Joseph and Agnes Irene (Sutter) Kuntz of Normal, IL. He was the grandson to Henry Paul and Caroline (Leichtenberg) Sutter. He graduated class of 1958 from Normal Community High School. *NOTE: Louis’ paternal grandparents, Henry and Caroline Sutter, built a two-story brick home at 4203 East Raab Road, Normal, IL; which still stands today.

On February 24, 1962, he married the love of his life, Beverly Pearl Crabtree. They shared a lifetime of love, loyalty, and commitment, building 58 beautiful years together. Throughout those years, Louis worked from his very early years, for Pennzoil/Quaker State/Shell Lubricants in both Pleasanton, California and later in Roswell, Georgia and climbed the ladder to become the top Sales/Sales Management position by the time he retired over 40 years later in Dec. 2002.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings; Loretta Rose (Jos. Leo) Carter, Russell Francis (Dorothy Reynolds) Kuntz, Patricia ‘Pat’ (William ‘Ellis’) Stone, Everett Leo (Carolyn Schenk) Kuntz, Donald (Shirley Golden) Kuntz, infant baby brother, Joseph Kuntz, infant baby sister, Mary Kuntz, and his step-mother A. Blanche (Cruze-Cusey) Kuntz.

Louis is survived by his wife, Beverly Pearl (Crabtree) Kuntz, one brother, Albert ‘Bert’ J. Kuntz, Jr., his four(4) children; 3 (three) sons and 1 (one) daughter: Gary (Michele) Kuntz, Mark Kuntz, Kelly Irene (Benjamin) MacCracken, Keith (Jennifer) Kuntz, and five grandchildren, step-siblings, Jim Cusey (Debbi) and MaryAnne (Cusey-Scott) King, five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He leaves behind a legacy of the years he worked for Pennzoil/Quaker State/Shell Lubricants in Sales Management position for many, many years. Louis carried his sense of dedication into every chapter of his life. His strong work ethic and reliability earned him the respect of coworkers and friends alike. He would take time with friends with a good golf game or two and once Louis retired, he didn’t stop doing. . . . always ‘fixin’ things, ‘grillin’ & ‘chillin’, ‘traveling to and from California in his ‘BUS’ . . .(32ft ‘motorhome RV), with Bev by his side each trip!

Anyone who knew Bev and Lou knew that they did just about everything together. They had each other’s backs through thick and thin. Their love for one another was the type most would hope and dream to have in a partner for life. They would lovingly bicker about “how the story went,” the way Bev would say “Louis!”! Louis loved his family and friends so much and would give the shirt off his back without thinking twice!

Nothing compared to the happiness he found in time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. Whether offering steady advice, lending a helping hand, or simply sitting together in comfortable silence, Louis’ presence was a source of strength and reassurance. His love was constant, practical, and deeply felt. Though he will be deeply missed, Louie’s love, lessons, and quiet strength will live on forever.

Due to COVID-19 social-distancing Restrictions, a memorial service will be held outside the funeral home, with social distancing seating, on Monday, July 22, 2020, Northside Chapel Funeral Directors & Crematory, 12050 Crabapple Road Roswell, GA. A private inurnment will take place afterwards.
